David G. Simmons, CPA

Wealth Enhancer
I enjoy learning new things about the evolving world of investments — it’s always been an area of interest of me, and it’s an added bonus that I get to use that knowledge to help our customers learn what’s out there, and find the ones that are a good fit for them. It’s as simple as that.
What’s one of your favorite customer stories?
An enterprise we work with had a large sum of money they wanted to invest and we talked through their options, finally settling on a good choice. A few months later they came back concerned their account was earning too much money, and I explained how markets move up and down, but that it’s the long-term trend which is most important. Usually I have to emphasize this when markets make a correction, but this was the first time I remember bringing it up for when markets were performing strongly.
If you had to spend a $1,000 on something fun, what would it be?
I think I’d spend it on a sailboat ride out of Annapolis, heading into an afternoon on the Chesapeake Bay.
